Taking pictures is the least favorite thing my son-in-law, Jed, likes to do... so first off I need to THANK him for humoring me and letting me do this little shoot. I have always felt like their engagement photos were just rushed so I've begged to do this for a couple of years now. It was a beautiful, warm day... a great day to spend time with those I love. (Lauren, that means you too!)

When her mom told me that she made her a cape, I honestly stayed up at night so excited to take pictures with JaCee in her cape! She was such a little trooper because this shoot goes down on record as one of the coldest. You're a doll, JaCee...!

Kyle & Janessa spent some time with me around Kyle's family farm. I thought we hit the lottery when we had an OLD Ideal Dairy truck and an old furniture truck to shoot by! haha! This shoot proves you can find awesome color even in the dead of winter... BUT we did about freeze to death! Congratulations you two!

Stephanie is a graduate of WHS and is now graduating from BYU in accounting. She doesn't get to WC very often but this time her grandma surprised her with a photo shoot! In all the hours I spend editing photos, I brainstorm new ideas to try... I had wanted to take someone to some ice and so that is exactly what we did! There were moments the ice would crack or groan and we'd freak out (a little) but it sure made for a fun memory... ;o) So here are a few from our time together!

The lighting wasn't perfect but I think it turned out pretty fun on the ice!

Wow, what to say about this shoot... It was absolutely great! I loved having new places, new textures, new country to work with... I loved spending time with Sarah and Greg! We had quite the adventures with cactus sticking us but was ever so grateful that we missed the adventure with snakes or scorpions! HA! I LOVED Arizona and the people in it!

The Chappell's are such an awesome family! You couldn't find better people anywhere in the world than Jerry and Dortha... Well, the day we scheduled these pictures happened to be a cold day in the middle of all the warm days we've been having. Darn. BUT the window in a nice warm house worked perfectly for these absolutely beautiful grand-babies! We tried some outside, which turned a bit crazy because cold and babies just don't mix! Oh well, next time we'll have to plan a summer shoot!!!

This cute couple wanted a vintage look... something that I LOVE doing! Katie wore her grandmother's dress and I LOVE taking photos that are meaningful with or in meaningful things... so it was really fun for me. The snow added to the shoot and made for some really fun photos. Joseph and Katie have had a long romance and much of it was through letters; I think it's pretty romantic! ;o) Loved their story.

It's crazy seeing how this family has grown! It seems like yesterday I was at the hospital seeing tiny, tiny little Breann... how time flies.
Tyrel and Dana surprised their family for Thanksgiving! They live in North Carolina and don't have the opportunity to come here a lot. Dana planned this photo-shoot for Jeanette months ago; what a sweet daughter-in-law!!! It was kind of cold but we had a great time!

This darling girl is amazing... I love spending time with her. She is the most down to earth, sweet girl and SO smart! Funny thing that I found out was that she is friends with one of "my girls", Monique! They had classes together and became friends... small world.
I just have to share a little about this shoot... looking at weather.com, I knew high winds and snow were coming. We planned to go early before that happened! Well, weather.com LIED! The winds were blowing so hard it was pushing my vehicle around... imaging what it did to this little sweetheart as she stood in the field! I had to edit her goose bumps and flecks of snow out. I kept saying how sorry I was that she was freezing, that the weather was so horrible and she just smiled and said she was fine. Seriously... I probably would be been in tears being that cold! Virginia, you are a DOLL! I hope you are pleasantly surprised that we got some beautiful shots of you on the worst day for a photo shoot ever! haha

Sydnee & Trevor - Missionaries

Let me introduce you to my niece, Sydnee and nephew, Trevor! Seems as these siblings have grow up, they were always doing things together... so this should come as no surprise that they are now going on missions at the same time. AND I DO mean the same time! They both enter the MTC on the same day! They are, however, not going the same places... Trevor is going to Curitiba, Brazil and Sydney is going to Copenhagen, Denmark! I love these two so much... the people they will meet are going to love them!

This family came from Monroe on a blustery, absolutely FREEZING day... (The only day they could get it together.) One of the families were detained so we waited for them watching the storm inch closer and closer (cue the scary music). When they arrived, we literally had probably 5-10 minutes to get their individual family and the large family taken before the snow was flying. It is a miracle we got it really! They might look cold, but they are still a GOOD LOOKIN' family! ...and tough, I might add!

The little boy in the purple had chattering teeth and just couldn't NOT look cold! Bless his heart!

This is my most favorite Cameron! We literally ran for about 30 minutes before he went to college... didn't have a lot of time but we got some fun shots. What beautiful sunsets we have in our little valley! Cameron has been one of my best helps with the summer reading program... he is pretty much a rock star with all the children of this county! Elder Chappell is an amazing young man; talented, smart and so much fun to be with (my Lauren can attest to that with the hundreds of rides they went on together for "One Voice"). Elder Chappell has been called to Torreon, Mexico and leaves in December. You will be an amazing missionary!

Greg and Sarah came clear from Mesa, Arizona to have some fun with me! ...and that is exactly what we did... What a blast! Sarah is my son-in-law, Blake's, sister. She is a beautiful singer so I knew I wanted to incorporate that in the shoot. Seriously, when they were singing and playing, I could have just sat there and listened all day. Talk about talented!!! Greg plays all sorts of instruments too. After all the beautiful photos were taken, Sarah had brought colored Indian powder to have some fun at the end... (Note the last 9 photos.) Way too much fun! Thank you for coming all this way you two! It was so much fun spending time with you and getting to know you. I have no doubt you will have a wonderful, fun and very musical marriage! Well, here are some of my sweetest friends... They wanted their old truck to be the prop for their photo shoot (see last photo), so Gary hauled it to their field for a perfect setting. We fought the sun and I had to laugh how fast we all moved the minute it went behind the cloud!
On a personal note... I count myself so very blessed to have Monica for a friend. She is one of the most talented woman I know and so humble about it. I have yet to find something she isn't amazing at! Thank you for everything you do for me..... and I love your family!

This gorgeous girl belongs to my good friend, Desi... The three of us had a great time with this shoot. I love the fact that Haylee could have taken photos with any of their beautiful horses but chose the one that she learned to barrel race on... the one that means so much to her. He may have some gray hair but I'm pretty sure he'd still fly around the barrels for his little girl. These photos will mean more as time goes by... The awesome thing about this job is it never gets boring! The variables change with each and every shoot making it a problem solving job at times... I cannot duplicate one shoot because I never know what I'm going to get. Magically some amazing rolls of hay covered with a beautiful color appear in a field up the street... makes me think of giant spools across the ground. FUN FUN FUN! ... no two shoots are alike.
I had so much fun with this darling couple!!! I love hearing "their story" and this one was cool because their paths had crossed while growing up but then never met until they both attended BYU. Jay and Heather grew up on farms so the hay photos are significant to both. Heather teaches 6th grade so we had fun shooting with the old school bus (Thanks again, Michael!)! When I was taking this photo, I was quite far away from Mark... I knew this was the moment he would see Jessica come around the corner in her beautiful wedding dress. Later, at home, when I came in close to see his expression, I have to say... it made my day! This guy is so in-love with his beautiful bride; the look on his face says it all. She took his breath away! It is one of the sweetest moments I have ever caught on camera! Beautiful violin and guitar music played the theme song from "Beauty and the Beast" as Jessica walked out... those are the words I have put through this photo. This was the moment that Mark saw his beauty!
